Miller Dunwiddie and The Church of the Assumption were honored with a Stewardship Award of the 23rd Annual Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Awards. We were recognized for our 15-year partnership in carefully planning and designing for the conservation of the Church. Likewise, the Church was recognized for their commitment and stewardship of the conservation of the Church and its campus.
The Church of the Assumption is an 1870’s church located in Downtown St. Paul near the Xcel Energy Center and listed on the National Register of Historic places. Since 1999, we have continued to provide services to the Church, including exterior restorations, basement renovation, reconstruction of entry limestone stairs and a new roof.
“I’m particularly pleased to be able to give this award because…..I’m really happy to be able to acknowledge what has become just a gem of downtown and the city of St. Paul.”
Dave Thune, Ward 2, Saint Paul City Council
The Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) of the City of Saint Paul and the Saint Paul Chapter of the American Institute of Architects co-sponsored the twenty-third annual Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Awards to recognize projects, individuals and organizations that enhance and celebrate Saint Paul’s cultural resources. The HPC serves as an advisory body to the Mayor and the City Council on municipal heritage preservation matters.
