FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minneapolis, MN. (September 1, 2008) – Architecture Minnesota Magazine features the addition and renovation of the Mabel Tainter Theater of Menomonie, WI, on the cover of its September-October 2008 issue. The article, first in a set dedicated to interior spaces, highlights Miller Dunwiddie's dedication to preserving this building's historic integrity, both inside and out.
The article praises the preservation of the Moorish style interior and Richardsonian exterior. The renovation not only restored damaged interior decoration but it also upgraded accessibility, comfort, and life safety features. A new addition along the north side of the building harmonizes with the original construction by continuing the Richardsonian Romanesque exterior, using stone taken from the original quarry. The article discusses the satisfaction from client and community over the revitalized theater and the dedication of the design team to adhere strictly to the original spirit of this historic landmark.
Architecture Minnesota, the primary public outreach tool of the American Institute of Architects Minnesota, is published to inform the public about architecture designed by AIA Minnesota members and to communicate the spirit and value of quality architect to both the public and the membership.
