FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minneapolis (March 1, 2007) – Miller Dunwiddie is pleased to announce that 25% of our architectural staff are now LEED Accredited Professionals.
Miller Dunwiddie recognizes the importance of Sustainable Design and has taken action to make it a part of our regular practice. We believe that "green" design is rapidly moving from a specialized service to the profession's standard. Similarly, we believe that these efforts cannot be carried out by a select team within an office, but need to be fully integrated into the design process. In October, 2006 we accepted our first LEED project with a goal to certify a White Bear Lake commercial building at the LEED-EB v2.0 Gold Level.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
Since 1963, Miller Dunwiddie Architecture (www.millerdunwiddie.com) has been helping
