FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Warroad, Minn. (August 10, 2004) – Community leaders and Marvin Windows and
Doors’ employees celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Marvin Training and
Heritage Center on August 10, 2004. The 30,000 square-foot facility, scheduled for
summer 2005 completion will provide spacious room for customer training sessions and
for a heritage center museum that will capture the history of Marvin Windows and Doors.
The center will be located at the intersection of Highway 313 and Highway 11 in
Warroad.
Miller Dunwiddie Architects designed the new building to express the values of tradition
and quality coupled with innovation which have been the cornerstones of the company’s
success since 1939. State-of-the-art technology for training instruction is incorporated
into traditional architectural forms that showcase the company’s windows and doors.
The project is headed by Brian Schaible, Marvin Windows and Doors’ project engineer.
Other organizations working on the project include: Nor-son, Inc., the general contractor,
and Design Craftsmen, the museum designer out of Midland, Michigan.
“As a premier manufacturer of wood windows and doors, we want to provide our
customers and area visitors with a world-class training and heritage facility that will
showcase our high-quality products and services and commitment to community, said
Peggy Johnson, Heritage Center co-chair. “We also anticipate that the Marvin Training
and Heritage Center will be a destination for tourists who are interested in learning more
about the window and door manufacturing process and the rich history behind a
Minnesota company.”
