A pioneer in historic preservation, Miller Dunwiddie has been helping protect and revive architectural treasures since 1963. During the past 40 years, we have completed more than 500 preservation projects – including work on one-third of Minnesota’s National Historic Landmarks.
A Wide Variety of Projects
Historic buildings come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and functions – and so do our projects. Our work has ranged from the restoration of a tiny wooden farmhouse (notable for an unusual structural framing system); to the master plan, rehabilitation, and construction for an entire city block (comprising 11 historic buildings, a new city park, and parking ramp) in a National Register Historic District.
The Expertise You Need
Our expertise in historic preservation is recognized throughout the Midwest. We understand the research and documentation demands as well as the architectural subtleties involved in renovating historic buildings. Whether you are restoring a building to its original state or hoping to add modern conveniences to a landmark without compromising character; we have the skills to get the job done right.
Help with Funding and Approvals
Funding and approvals are a critical part of any preservation project. At Miller Dunwiddie, we provide advice and assistance for obtaining historic tax credits, facade easements, grant-in-aid, and other financial incentives for historic buildings. In addition, have a thorough understanding of the codes and regulations for buildings on historical registries. All-in-all, we have the connections, resources, and experience needed to get your project underway.
