MSP International Airport, MN
Miller Dunwiddie designed a new state-of-the-art Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility near the
center of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport runway system. The fire station contains
apparatus bays, administrative areas, fire fighter living quarters, and training facilities.
The primary focus of airport fire station design is to provide rapid response for fire
fighters and vehicles responding to an alert. As a result, configuration of this station
incorporates maximum views of the airfield and direct access from the apparatus bays to the road and runway system.
