Red Wing, MN
Miller Dunwiddie's thorough design knowledge and attention to detail provided for the successful adaptive reuse of the Central High School into loft apartments. This historic 1915 building in Red Wing, Minnesota, sits comfortably near the center of the city, providing an urban living opportunity in a small town atmosphere. The project includes multiple types of market rate units, conversion of the auditorium area into indoor parking, and landscaping to strengthen its connection to the neighboring Central Park. Energy efficiency and existing building reuse work to make for an environmentally conscious living choice. Completed in 2006, the project utilized historic facade easements as part of its funding strategy.
