Stillwater, MN
The board of trustees of the Stillwater Public Library selected Miller Dunwiddie and their team of consultants to design the renovation and expansion of the historic Stillwater Public Library. The Library was originally constructed in 1902 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie; one of over 2,500 such libraries built worldwide.
The renovation and expansion respects the building's historic Beaux-Arts style, while adding 22,000 square feet of much needed space to the existing 14,000 SF building. Library functions and technology were significantly improved, along with the addition of public meeting spaces, a coffee shop, and reading rooms. Site amenities included an outdoor terrace space, improved drop-off, and a 47-car parking structure.
