Warroad, MN
The Marvin Training and Heritage Center in Warroad is the "living room" for the Marvin Window and Door Company. Inside, visitors are introduced to the legacy, spirit, and values of a company with a distinguished history of leadership and service.
Miller Dunwiddie master planned and designed the new facility to accomplish the three primary goals of the client: visitor education, product training and heritage preservation. The west wing of the building houses the Heritage Center, main lobby, and retail store. The east wing contains training rooms, lunch services, and a lobby. A link between the wings houses the instructor's office suite, staff work room, heritage center manager's office, and archive.
The focus of the building is the Heritage Center exhibit hall. This hall contains historical artifacts, interactive displays and full-scale exhibits that tell the story of the Marvin family, the company, and the community of Warroad beginning in 1904 when George G. Marvin arrived in town by train.
