Silverwood Park Visitor Center
Project Overview
The Silverwood Park Visitor Center is an environmental and artistic driven design that nestles within and celebrates this uniquely wild urban park, while also meeting the Minnesota Sustainable Design Guidelines (B3) requirements. The project began with an existing site and building evaluation and master plan for the park development. The visitor center design included a geo-thermal heating and cooling system, daylighting and sun control elements, high-performance envelope design, recycled and reclaimed materials used for roofing and interior wood trim, and an innovative rain water system for irrigation.
